Utah State Umpire Association By-Laws Proposed Changes

1) article IV - nominations :

 Section 2: The annual election of officers will be conducted on the last meeting of the season, which will be the postseason preseason Tournament meeting. The term of each elected board member shall commence November 1 in the year they are elected.

Suggested change: The annual election of officers will be conducted on the last meeting of the season, which will be the postseason meeting held in June. The term of each elected board member shall commence November 1 in the year they are elected.

Article VI - fees and dues

Section 1: Annual dues for all members shall be established by the Board of Directors, as stated in article II, section 2. These dues will be due by the last meeting. The board will determine dues for all board members.

Suggested change:Section 1: Annual dues for all members shall be established by the Board of Directors, as stated in article II, section 2. These dues will be paid prior to any assignments from the USUA Arbiter. The board will determine dues for all board members.

Article VI section 9: An umpire working a single tournament may be approved by the president to pay half dues and therefore is ineligible for legal assignments and refunded dues.

suggested change: The deletion of section 9 altogether. The same information is covered in section 8.
